After graduating with a BA in Drama from Binghamton University in NY, studying under Julliard professor Gene Lesser, Adam Huss moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career doing what he loves most, acting in film and television. Before landing the role of Joshua Kantos on the STARZ show “POWER”, Adam guest starred on shows such as NBC’s “IRONSIDE”, “CSI: NY”, “NCIS”, “NCIS: LA”, “LAS VEGAS” and many others.
He currently is starring in the films “PAINKILLERS” with Madeline Zima, Debra Wilson, and Grant Bowler, “MUNA” with Nigerian movie star Adesua Etomi, and “ERNESTO’s MANIFESTO”. Plus the LIFETIME movies, “WITNESS UNPROTECTED”, opposite Daphne Zuniga and “FIANCE’ KILLER”. He also can be seen in the independent films “PARADOX“, “STILL WAITING”, “WAITING IN THE WINGS“, “IS IT JUST ME?“, “RESURRECTION COUNTY”, and “WANNABE”. He recently associate produced and was the star of the feature film “FIND ME”, which debuted at the Hollywood Film Festival and is available to rent on AMAZON. He is currently in development on the feature film LET IT KILL YOU, that he wrote with his MOLECULE PRODUCTIONS business partner, Adam Bucci.
He is also a big fan of the theater, and credits his time on stage, most recently in comedy/mystery noir “ATTACK OF THE SECOND BANANAS” at the Zephyr Theater in Hollywood and also in the world premiere musical “JUSTIN LOVE”and the Theatricum Botanicum’s productions of “MEASURE OF MEASURE”and the drama “THE WOMEN OF LOCKERBIE”, as the reasons for staying sharp and prepared as an actor.
He would not be standing where he is today without the support from his loved ones and the awareness of the gratitude he has for all of them in his life. He comes from a big Italian family from Long Island, NY and he is very close to them. He remembers fondly Sunday night dinners at his grandma’s home where his father’s 8 other siblings and their families would gather for big, fun filled, food filled traditional Italian dinners. The values and morals instilled in him there and by his own parents, are what he lives by with pride and honor today. They’ve shaped him into becoming the man he is today, and taught him to listen to his heart in all that he does and to lead with it first always. He hopes to start his own family someday and pass down all he has learned from his wonderful, special family.
In addition to acting, Adam is also passionate about volunteer work. He volunteered for 4 years at the Cedar Sinai Medical Center in the Children’s cancer ward. The bravery he saw from these young children facing something they should never have to, inspired him and put it all into perspective. He currently is trying to work with The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. He is passionate about this charity, having had his own family and friends been so closely affected by the disease. And hopes to make even the smallest difference by getting involved. He is also a big advocate for anti-bullying. Having been bullied himself while growing up in a small suburb of Long Island where young kids didn’t always accept another kid wanting to be an actor so openly, he feels passionate about stopping bullying or helping those who are bullied if he can. He is trying to start his own anti-bullying organization, a work in progress.
Even though Adam doesn’t have kids yet, he does have one small, precious baby named Sawyer, who is actually a black Dachshund/Lab mix who he rescued from TheDogrescuers.com , a great organization run by Veronica Ferrantelli. The work she does in rescuing animals from kill shelters or squalor type situations is unbelievable and commendable. You can see the videos for yourself on the website. It is truly awe inspiring! Please support her and adopt an animal if you can!
Adam also has many other passions and hobbies besides acting, including music, books, movies, and TV shows. You can find a list of some of his “favorites” on the blog page in this very website! He also loves hiking, camping, or anything in the outdoors and in nature. And enjoys staying physically fit.
